Linwood (Lin) W. Blizzard, 77, of New Cumberland, died Saturday, December 28, 2013 in his home, surrounded by his adoring family.
Lin was an alumni of Girard College, Philadelphia. He proudly served his beloved country in the US Air Force during the Korean War. He was retired from a long career in sales in the heating industry.
Lin was an avid fan of the Penn State Nittany Lions and Philadelphia Phillies. He loved traveling, music, and horseback riding. He was generous with his time, always willing to help others. His greatest love was his family.
Lin was born in Harrisburg to the late Isaac and Ruth (McCord) Blizzard, Jr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Benjamin Blizzard and grandson Glenn Donovan Simmons.
He is survived by his loving wife of more than 48 years, Janis (Failor) Blizzard; his daughters, Lisa Blizzard and her husband Matthew Sternstein of West Orange, NJ and Kimberly Blizzard-Simmons and her husband Glenn Simmons of Shermansdale; a brother Robert Blizzard and his wife Jo Blizzard of Ft. Worth, TX; and a granddaughter Samantha Sternstein.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 pm on Friday, January 3, 2014 in Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland with the Rev. John F. Rauhut officiating. Inurnment will be at Fort Indiantown Gap.
