Michael C. Flasser

Michael C. Flasser, 55, of New Cumberland, passed away on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 in Penn State Hershey Medical Center, Derry Township, following a courageous fight against cancer.
Mike was a railroader through and through; from the beginning when he was a diesel mechanic with Conrail to more recently as an Engineer with Norfolk Southern Railroad, he loved what he did. He enjoyed drag racing, skiing, tinkering with older cars, Christmas and assembling his train set each year. He was kind generous, unselfish and had a dry delivery for his sharp sense of humor. Mike didn’t have an abundance of friends, but the ones he had were very dear to him. And, of all of the things Mike loved, his wife and family meant everything to him.
Mike was born in New Brunswick, NJ to Helen (Czipka) Flasser of Piscataway, NJ and the late Charles Flasser.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife Sheree R. (Marshall) Flasser; brother James Flasser of South Plainfield, NJ; sister Kathy Flasser of Edison, NJ; a niece Jennifer Flasser and a nephew James Flasser and wife Julie.
In keeping with Mike’s wishes, private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions be made in Mike’s name to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 897 Hershey, PA 17033.
