Miguel Enrique Rivas

September 28, 1988 — July 13, 2020

Miguel Enrique Rivas, 31, of Etters, passed away on Monday, July 13, 2020 due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Son of Teresa Rivera and the late Carmelo Enrique Rivas, Miguel was born on September 28, 1988 in Manatí, Puerto Rico.

Miguel went to Cedar Cliff High School, Camp Hill, and entered the workforce immediately after. He was a certified master technician at Faulkner Subaru on the Carlisle Pike, Mechanicsburg, where he had been employed for nearly 9 years. Miguel was a source of information and experience when it came to cars and engines, but he never flaunted his knowledge. Rather, he was warm and welcoming to those around him, and he treated strangers as if they were his family. He was a good mix of fun-loving and hardworking, and always put his family first. After losing his father in 2017, Miguel became the rock of his family, and he was exceeding all aspects of that role. He was the shoulder to cry on, the voice of reason, and the person who set goals and got things done. He led by example and propped others up, rather than putting them down. The greatest joy in his life were his children, and each of them came before any of his own problems or issues. His family will miss that infectious laugh, his giant inviting smile, and his frequent words of comfort, encouragement and reason. Miguel made those around him better by helping them to recognize their own potential.

Surviving Miguel is his fiancée, Amber Tibbens, of Etters; his four children and seven step-children, Gabriel Rivas, Emmalina Rivas, Lilianna Rivas, Carmelo Rivas, Alex Limric, Aubrey Limric, Adam Limric, Ashton Limric, Kyle Langzettel, Camden Langzettel, and Zachary Langzettel; his mother, Teresa Rivera of New Cumberland; his grandmother, Lydia Otero; his sisters, Key Rivas of New Cumberland, and Lynette Latz (husband, Kenny Latz) of Etters; Lynette’s in-laws, who were family to Miguel, Ken and Corinna Latz of Lewisberry; his ex-fiancée, Jamie Righter of Etters; and his nieces and nephews, Edwin Rivas, Estrella Marrero, Luna Marrero, Manuel Rodriguez, Keylinas Negron, Kenneth Latz and Remmington Latz. In addition to his father Carmelo Enrique Rivas, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Ceferino and Providence Alvarez; and his grandfather, Jesus Rivera.

A visitation will take place from 4-6PM on Saturday, July 18, 2020 at Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland. A celebration of Miguel’s life will take place in the near future as well.
