Paul I. Engle

Paul I. Engle, 92, of New Cumberland, passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 in Holy Spirit Hospital, East Pennsboro Twp.

He was a retired Traveling Car Accountant with Conrail and prior to the merger, worked for the Reading Railroad. Additionally, he was a WWII Navy veteran. He was a member of New Cumberland First Church of the Nazarene; a former Troop leader for Troop 14, Zion Lutheran Church, Harrisburg; a graduate of the former John Harris High School, Harrisburg, Gettysburg College and Columbia University.

Paul was born in Harrisburg to the late Albert W. and Huldah M. (Reilley) Engle.

He is survived by his wife of more than 40 years, Connie R. (Rinehart) Engle; children, Pamela J. Gaul of New Cumberland, Gregory D. Carney of York, Michael L. Carney of Saudi Arabia, Patrick M. Carney of New Cumberland, James D. Carney of Front Royal, VA and Robert E. Carney of Pottstown; a sister Nancy A. Regar of Charlottesville, VA; fourteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 1:30 pm Monday, May 9, 2016 in New Cumberland First Church of the Nazarene, 617 16th Street New Cumberland, PA 17070. Visitation will be one hour prior to services Monday in the church. Burial with Military Honors will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, East Hanover Twp., PA.
