Paul S. Bowman

Paul S. Bowman, 92, of Mechanicsburg, passed away on Friday, April 19, 2019 in his residence surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Mechanicsburg on October 3, 1926, the son of the late Paul E. and Gertie E. (Stare) Bowman. He was a 1944 graduate of Mechanicsburg High School, attended Gettysburg College and Drexel Institute of Technology, and was a WWII Army Air Corps veteran. Paul retired after 37 years of service with British Petroleum Company; served as Mechanicsburg Borough Treasurer for over 25 years; was a member of the Mechanicsburg Club; and a life-long member of Grace United Methodist Church, Mechanicsburg.

Paul is survived by his wife of more than 70 years, Arlene (Hain) Bowman; three daughters, Susan C. Bowman and husband Tom of York, Nancy L. Green and husband Joe of York Haven and Amy E. Brown of Harrisburg; a son David R. Bowman and wife Pat of Mechanicsburg; 9 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; a niece and a nephew. In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his sister Eva M. Williams.

A memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 in Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland with the Rev. Michael Langford, his pastor officiating.
