Paul Werner Tafel

d. July 16, 2014

Paul Werner Tafel, 87, of Allendale, Lower Allen Twp., passed away at his home on Wednesday, July 16, 2014.
Above all else, Paul was a loving, loyal, and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He had a terrific sense of humor and wit, a kind, humble, and grateful spirit, and never had a bad word to say about anyone. He was deeply loved by his family and will be greatly missed.
Paul had retired from a successful career working as a mechanical engineer at York Industries, Inc., (in York, PA,) and prior to that at AMF, Inc., (in York, PA, NY, and CT.)
He graduated from the Indiana Institute of Technology in Fort Wayne, IN, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
As a first generation American, Paul proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII.
Paul graduated from Brooklyn Technical High School, in Brooklyn, NY, which was and still is, one of the most prestigious and selective high schools in the U.S. He was also active in the Boy Scouts of America, and achieved the esteemed rank of Eagle Scout.
Paul was born in St. Louis, MO to Christian Charles Tafel and Gertrude (Schwable) Tafel in 1927.
Paul is survived by his beloved and cherished wife of more than 62 years, Rosemary (Bienenstein) Tafel; his much-loved sons and daughter-in-laws, Kenneth P. and Joan of Mechanicsburg, and Robert J. and Leighanne of Dillsburg; his treasured grandchildren, Nicholas, Rachel and Cordelia; and his especially dear niece and nephew, Joan Fuerch of Massapequa Park, NY, and Richard Bienenstein of Huntington Station, NY.
At Paul’s request, no public services will be held. To send a message of condolence to his family, please visit: www.Parthemore.com.
