Richard B. Williams, P.E.

Richard “Dick” B. Williams, P.E., of Camp Hill, died Tuesday, January 26, 2016. Born September 15, 1928, in Mt. Kisco, New York, he was the son of the late George C. Williams and Miriam (Bailey) Williams.
Dick graduated from Union College in Schenectady, New York, earning a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering degree in 1950. He served during the Korean War in Seattle, working as a civil engineer on the design of the Distant Early Warning (DEW) Line.
He retired after 54 years of practice, including 40 years as partner and structural engineer at Aufiero and Associates. With extensive experience in bridges, highways, and heavy construction, he contributed to the design of more than 350 bridges as well as numerous water and sewage treatment facilities. He was registered as a Professional Engineer in Pennsylvania and New York.
Dick was a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the American Consulting Engineers Council and was a Life Member in the National Society of Professional Engineers and the Pennsylvania Society of Professional Engineers. In his spare time, he traveled throughout the world and read extensively.
Dick is survived by Ginny, his beloved and devoted wife of more than 61 years, brother Douglas Williams, M.D., and wife Patricia of Sacramento, CA, son Richard and wife Julie of Cleveland, OH, son David and wife Maureen of Woodbridge, Virginia, daughter Sarah and husband Ed of Summit, NJ, and grandsons Tom, Dan, Sam, Ben, and Nate, as well as extended family members who loved him. He was pre-deceased by his son, Steven.
At Dick’s request, there will be no services.
