Richard "Dick" Mcgee

Richard "Dick" McGee, 87, of Shiremanstown, passed away on May 25, 2020, Memorial Day.

Richard was married to the late Helen Louise (Gill) McGee nearly 58 years. They had the pleasure of visiting all 50 states and 23 foreign countries together. Richard enjoyed boating, fishing and playing golf. He was a Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates fan. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. Born in Holidaysburg on January 3, 1933, he was the son of the late William and Minnie (Bartlebaugh) McGee. Richard proudly served in the U.S. Navy/Seabees during the Korean War.

Richard was a U. S. Postal Inspector for 29 years before he retired. He then went to work for Erie Insurance as a Fraud Investigator for ten years. He later volunteered for Hospice for over ten years.

Surviving are two daughters, Susan Engelmore of Ithaca NY, and Dianna Payne and her husband Jim of York; four grandchildren, Dr. Tatia Engelmore (Simon), Amanda Payne, Jake Payne (Laken) and Jeb Payne; great granddaughter, Audrey Payne; a daughter in law, Becky McGee of Mechanicsburg.

Richard was preceded in death by his son, Richard T. McGee, and his son in law, Tony Engelmore. He was also predeceased by all twelve of his siblings.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
