Richard J. "Dick" Marinelli

June 11, 1940 — October 1, 2021

Richard J. “Dick” Marinelli, 81, of Newberry Twp., passed away on Friday, October 1, 2021 at his residence and surrounded by family. He was the son of the late Lawrence “Larry” and Marie (Stefanie) Marinelli, born on June 11, 1940 in Buffalo, NY.

He attended DeVry University, Chicago, and he went on to work for (and retire from) AMP, Harrisburg after many years of employment. He was a constant source of encouragement and pleasant conversation; he was the rock of the family, and his upbeat positive personality always made things better. Although he loved people, Dick enjoyed his time in the woods too, whether he was hunting or fishing. He loved being a grandpa, and life became all about the grandchildren as he aged. He was a former member of St. Theresa Catholic Church, and a current parishioner of Holy Infant Catholic Church, Manchester. Those nearest to him will miss his sense of humor and loving way.

Surviving Dick is his wife of 32 years, Anita (Swartz) Marinelli; children, Christopher L. Marinelli of York Haven, Jeanine M. Pfaff (Greg) of Lebanon, Lorene E. Marinelli of North Wales, Corinne L. Lee (Tzuo) of Harrisburg, and Andrew R. Marinelli of New Cumberland; grandchildren, Ashley McIntyre, Joshua Pfaff, Nicole Pfaff, and Aniela Lee; and a brother, Lawrence A. (Gail) Marinelli of McLean, VA. He also leaves behind two step-children and six step-grandchildren who loved him very much.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Holy Infant Catholic Church, Manchester.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a contribution in Dick’s name to his church, Holy Infant Catholic Church, 535 Conewago Creek Road, Manchester, PA 17345.
