Richard L. 'Rick' Sponsler

Richard L. Rick Sponsler, 66, of Fairview Twp., New Cumberland, died peacefully on Tuesday, January 15, 2013, at the Carolyn Croxton Slane Residence, Susquehanna Twp.
He was a retired millwright welder for Aycock Inc., Hummelstown; a member and former commander of the American Legion Post 974, Fairview Twp.; a member of the V.F.W. Post 7415, New Cumberland and the Goldsboro Firemans Club. Rick enjoyed playing sports, including baseball, softball, playing in pool leagues and being in the company of his friends.
Born on December 9, 1946, he was the son of the late George F. and Ora Netta Betty (Whitman) Sponsler. He was the widow of Cheryl (Dietrich) Sponsler.
Surviving are a son, Richard G. Sponsler of Dillsburg; two daughters, Kelly S. Eckert (Mario) of York Haven and Jennifer L. Pell, New Smyrna Beach, FL; two brothers, George M. Sponsler, Newbury Park., CA, and Jack E. Sponsler, Church Falls, VA; two grandchildren, Mathew Eckert, Jordan and Jayla Pell.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
