Robert E. "Bob" Seanor

July 10, 1939 — February 2, 2020

Robert E. “Bob” Seanor, 80, of New Cumberland, died peacefully on Sunday, February 2, 2020, surrounded by his family, at UPMC Pinnacle Harrisburg Hospital. Son of the late Edward M. and Mabel (Vinsek) Seanor, he was born on July 10, 1939 in Delmont, Westmoreland County, PA.

U.S. Air Force veteran, Bob served with the 1st Air Commando Squadron during the Vietnam Campaign and retired after 20 years of service as MSGT. He then went to work as a Special Agent with the Federal Government in Harrisburg, PA.

Bob, affectionately called “Popo” by his family, loved the family hunting cabin “Round Camp” in Elk County, PA. Popo shared with his children and grandchildren his love of the cabin, the outdoors and hunting; teaching all of us how to start a camp fire for smores and hot dogs, how to keep the cabin warm by manning the wood stove, walks in the forest, target practice, filling buckets of water from the pump, raking tons of leaves so the grass would not die, building a zip line for the grandkids, walking the water line looking for leaks, sharing his favorite hunting spots, taking us spotting for deer, and a favorite; hooking up a sled behind his truck and pulling the grandkids in the snow! Bob loved to read and enjoyed going to the book sales at the New Cumberland Public Library. He enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s school events as well as their baseball, football, lacrosse, softball and many other activities. Popo sang to all of us his little ditties and rhymes. He was patient, caring, he minced no words and would tell you what he thought, he loved Elsie with all his heart and more and his love carried over to his grandchildren all of whom he was so very proud of; he was so excited to have great grandchildren and seeing Sherrie’s kids and watching Grayson gave him many smiles, he “met” Ellie Rose in a vivid dream just days before he became sick. Popo will be in our hearts forever!

Surviving Robert is his wife, Elsie (McCarl) Seanor; a son, David Seanor (Kris), daughters, Yvonne Sersch (Mark) and Christine Ruopp (Joshua); grandchildren, Sherrie Seanor (Fiancé, David), Danielle Stone (Chad), David Seanor (Fiancé, Melissa), Dalton Sersch (Fiancé, Korin), Jacob Swade, Trevor Sersch, Madison Ruopp, Ryanne Ruopp and Camryn Ruopp; great-grandchildren, Trent, Alessa, Trish, Orion, Grayson, and due later this month, Ellie Rose. He is also survived by two sisters, Sylvia J. Dollins of St. Charles, MO, and Cheryl L. Lawrence of Fairview, PA; nephew, Charles Schlumbrecht (Gina); and a great-niece, Karla. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Ida Mae Schlumbrecht.

A funeral service will be held at 2PM on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at Parthemore Funeral Home, New Cumberland. A viewing will take place from 1PM until the services begin.
