Steve T. Lenkevich, 90, formerly of New Cumberland, died Thursday, May 9, 2013 in the Church of God Home, Carlisle.
He was a retired carpenter with the Keystone Carpenters Union Local 287 whose career included projects with Herre Brothers, Community General Osteopathic Hospital, Harrisburg, Purina in Shiremanstown, and numerous home remodelings. He was a WWII Army veteran serving with the 69th Infantry Division; a member of St. Theresa Parish, New Cumberland where he was active in its Little Flower Club; VFW Post 7415 and American Legion Post 143, both of New Cumberland; St. Lawrence Lodge #13; Capital City Polka Dancers; and White Rose Polka Club.
Steve was born in Houtzdale, PA to the late Michael and Catherine (Berhosky) Lenkevich.
He is survived by his wife of more than 61 years, Doris M. (Chabala) Lenkevich of Camp Hill; a daughter Loraine Renshaw and husband Doug of Mechanicsburg; three sons, Thomas and wife Ellie of Palm Coast, FL, Stephen and wife Linda of Harrisburg and Richard J. of Mechanicsburg; a sister Ann Dixon of Houtzdale, PA; and 13 grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am on Saturday, May 11, 2013 in St. Theresa Catholic Church, New Cumberland. Viewings will be from 6-8 pm on Friday evening with a Scripture Service at 7:45 and again from 10-10:30 am on Saturday in Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland. Burial with military honors will be in Rolling Green Cemetery, Lower Allen Twp.
