Theodore C. “Ted” Appleby, 88, of Harrisburg, died Thursday, March 20, 2014 in his residence.
He was a retired Senior Quality Control Engineer for over 50 years with TRW and Chromalloy, Inc., Harrisburg. He was a WWII Navy veteran; a member of Ridgeway Community Church of the Brethren, Harrisburg; and a former member of the Lions Club.
Ted was born in Reilly Twp., Schuylkill County to the late Thomas and Martha (McCloy) Appleby. In addition to his parents, Ted was preceded in death by his wife of more than 65 years, Georgetta (Tosheff) Appleby and a brother John “Jack” Appleby.
He is survived by his son Michael T. Appleby and wife Wendy of Columbia, MD; his daughter Loie J. Bosak and husband David of Harrisburg; sisters, Isabelle Feehrer of Harrisburg, June Davis of Mechanicsburg and Anne Parsons of OH; five grandchildren, Ryan, Raelyn and Amber Witmer, Jared Appleby and Lauren Nicol; six great grandchildren, Tyler, Dillon, Jessa, Hunter, Lili and Toryn Witmer.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Monday, March 24, 2014 in his church, 525 N. Progress Ave. Harrisburg, PA 17109 with Pastor Elizabeth Bidgood Enders, his pastor officiating. Viewing will be one hour prior to services in the church. Entombment will be in Rolling Green Cemetery, Lower Allen Twp.
