Verna Wood Hendershot

Verna Wood Hendershot, 85, of Camp Hill, passed on Monday, October 29, 2018.

She recently celebrated her 65th wedding anniversary with her husband Robert.

Verna spent her childhood in Gibsonia, PA before living most of her adult life in the Harrisburg area. Verna retired as Administrative Assistant to the Pennsylvania Association of School Administrators. She was a devoted member and choir member of Christ Presbyterian Church, Camp Hill, an avid reader and gardener, book club member and enjoyed music, both jazz and classical.

Verna was a loving wife to Robert, a mother to Robert Hendershot and Cynthia Carpenter, mother-in-law to Bonnie Hendershot and Stephen Carpenter, grandmother to Robbie and Sara Hendershot as well as Christina Ball (Jeremy) and Katherine Carpenter and great grandmother to Carson and sister of Dale Wood and sister-in-law to Carol Wood.

A memorial service will be held at Christ Presbyterian Church, 421 Deerfield Rd., Camp Hill on Saturday, November 3, with the Rev. Ellen Crawford True officiating. Verna’s family will greet family and friends between 10 and 11 a.m. at the church. The memorial service will begin at 11 and will be followed by a light lunch at the church.
