Victor Emanuel Bria

January 16, 1932 — August 31, 2020

Victor Emanuel Bria, 88, formerly of Harrisburg, passed away on Monday, August 31, 2020 in The Bridges at Bent Creek, Silver Spring Twp.

He was a retired Corrections Officer with the State Correctional Institution at Camp Hill and early on managed his family’s business, Bria’s Café in Steelton. Victor was a Korean War Army veteran; an active member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Harrisburg; a member of American Legion Post 420, Steelton; and VFW Post 710, Steelton. He loved music, singing, dancing, playing cards, bingo and traveling with his wife. But more than anything, he enjoyed spending time with his family.

Victor was born in Steelton to the late Pasquale and Sadie (Sprovieri) Bria. In addition to his parents, he was the widower of Elsa Jane (Lydick) Bria and was preceded in death by a brother Martin Bria, a sister Louise Morelli and a son Raymond Armold.

He is survived by his children, Rosetta Reed and husband Tom of New Cumberland, Irene Harkleroad of AZ, and Linda Muretic of New Cumberland; a sister Caroline Columbo of Hummelstown; four grandchildren, Austin Reed, Gina Zangari, Michael Muretic and Gail Maguire; and two great grandchildren, Jayden and Wyatt.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am on Friday, September 4, 2020 in Holy Family Catholic Church, 555 S. 25th St. Harrisburg. Viewing will be one hour prior to the start of Mass at the church. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, West Hanover Twp.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorials in Victor’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memorials Processing, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
