Virginia C. "Ginny" Venier

September 30, 1932 — March 15, 2015

Virginia C. “Ginny” Venier, 82, of Camp Hill, passed away Sunday, March 15, 2015 at Messiah Village, Upper Allen Twp.
Ginny was born in Brooklyn, NY, to the late Edward F. and Anna May (Burke) Conway. After high school, she graduated from the C.F. Young Secretarial School and was an accomplished professional. She had many positions over the years, including secretary to a senior partner in a New York law firm, secretary to the head of the Department of Agronomy at MSU, and secretary to the assistant chief of staff of the 25th Infantry Division in Hawaii, handling classified defense information.
After relocating to Harrisburg with her husband, Ginny left professional life and became a devoted mother and homemaker. After raising her children, she later enjoyed working for the Sears Catalog Company and found great pleasure in volunteering at Holy Spirit Hospital. Her greatest joy was becoming a grandmother. She was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church, New Cumberland.
Ginny is survived by her loving and devoted husband of more than 60 years, Louis J. Venier; a son, Michael J. Venier (Patti) of Easton; a daughter, Lisa Hardy (Todd) of Boiling Springs; sisters Nancy Van Velson of NJ and Eileen Conneely (Tom) of NY; four grandchildren, John, Ryan, Rachel and Trish; and three step-grandchildren, Josh, Justin, and Chuck.
A mass of christian burial will be celebrated at 11 am on Friday, March 27, 2015 at St. Theresa Catholic Church, New Cumberland, with visitation and a luncheon to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to the Alzheimer’s Association, or to Hospice of Central PA.
