Vivian Mae Smith

Vivian Mae Smith, 71, of Fairview Twp., passed away on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 in her residence surrounded by her loving family.

She was a retired shipping clerk with Exel Logistics, Mechanicsburg and formerly the co-owner with her husband of Jay A. Smith Fancy Farm Produce, Kline Village Farmers Market, Harrisburg. She was a 1965 graduate of Cumberland Valley High School; a member of Fairview Bethel Church of God, New Cumberland; a member of the Cumberland Valley Tres Dias; and loved cross stitching, crafts and flowers. But more than anything, she loved her family.

Vivian was born in Mechanicsburg to the late Gerald A. and Gladys H. (Williams) Brown. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a grandson John Patrick.
She is survived by her husband of more than 50 years, Jay A. Smith; three daughters, Lisa M. Neal of Mechanicsburg, Jennifer S. Maugans and husband Jeremy of Etters and Julie Anne Creager and husband Jonathan of Mechanicsburg; siblings, Lura K. Hamer of New Cumberland and Wayne A. Brown of Tennessee; and five grandchildren, Emilee, Joshua, Katelyn, Morgan and Delaney.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Friday, May 4, 2018 in Fairview Bethel Church of God, 800 Old Forge Rd. New Cumberland with the Rev’s Dan Masshardt and Eugene Hockenberry officiating. Viewing will be from 9-11 am Friday in the church. Burial will follow in Fairview Bethel Cemetery, Fairview Twp.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are encouraged to either her church at the address above or to Hospice of Central PA, 1320 Linglestown Road Harrisburg, PA 17110.
