William T. Shindel, Jr.

William T. Shindel, Jr., 78, of New Cumberland, died Monday, February 20, 2017, at Select Specialty Hospital, Harrisburg.
He retired as a self-employed Claims Adjuster for Alan Clarke and Associates, Harrisburg; a U.S. Army Vietnam War Veteran; a member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, New Cumberland, and was a dedicated Boston Red Sox Fan. Born on May 26, 1938, in Scranton, he was the son of the late William T., Sr. and Lyra M. (Kent) Shindel.
Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Kathy S. Shindel; his aunt, Marcy Kent of FL; a brother-in-law, Leslie Smith of VA; three nieces, Teresa Jackson, Kristine Bowman and Michele Foster, all of VA; two Godchildren, Matthew Hall of TX and Tracy Hubert of CT.
Visitation will be held 1 – 2 PM on Monday at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, New Cumberland, with a memorial service immediately following at 2 PM with the Rev. Elaine M. Dent officiating. Inurnment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, East Hanover Twp.
The family has requested no flowers. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are respectfully requested to St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, 524-530 Bridge St., New Cumberland, PA 17070.
