Winnie Lou Engle

April 30, 1944 — December 29, 2015

Winnie Lou Engle, 71, of Silver Spring Twp., Mechanicsburg, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 29th, 2015 at home, surrounded by her family, after a courageous eight year battle with Lewy Body Disease.
She worked for Nationwide Insurance, Harrisburg as a Claims Representative and in more recent years, as a private caregiver. She had the artist’s touch and she expressed her talents beautifully in her home and flower gardens. Winnie was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, Fisherville where she taught children’s Sunday School classes while she was able and the children loved her. She was a beautiful woman, physically and spiritually. Winnie was truly a blessing to everyone who knew her. She had a caring and generous spirit. Winnie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend.
Born on April 30th, 1944 in Harrisburg, she was the daughter of the late Maurice and Salome (Sultzbaugh) Miller. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Sandra Fowler.
Surviving are her husband of 48 years, Bud Engle; a son, Todd Andrew Engle and his wife Tracy of Mechanicsburg; three brothers, Robert Miller and wife Terri of Charlotte, NC, Paul Miller and wife Joann of Etters, and Ronald Miller of Mechanicsburg; a sister, Peggy Mercurio of Harrisburg; two grandchildren, Ryan Gardner and Baileigh Engle; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jack Fowler of Dillsburg, Linda and Hal Stopfel of Halifax and Bonnie Freeman of Halifax; many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 4th, at Halifax United Methodist Church, 105 Wind Hill Drive, Halifax at 10 AM. Memorial services will follow at 11 AM in the church.
