Zenaida De Jesus

Zenaida De Jesus, 79, of New Cumberland, passed away on Friday, June 5, 2020 at UPMC Harrisburg Hospital. Daughter of the late Carmelo De Jesus and Victoria Colon, she was born on November 23, 1940 in Salinas, PR.

Zenaida was born and raised in Puerto Rico. She was quite gifted as a seamstress; just recently she was making masks for the COVID-19 pandemic. She was a fun mom, and loved spending times with her kids and family. Her kids enjoyed crabbing and fishing with her when they were young. Despite these rugged mom duties, she was always sharply dressed and put together before leaving the house. She was also a woman of faith, and a member of First Bilingual Christian Church of Harrisburg, PA.

Zenaida is survived by her daughters, Doris Santos Correa (Enrique) of Puerto Rico. Ivonne Martinez (Ruben) of Texas, and Damaris Santiago and Janet Correa, both of York; grandchildren, Glendalys, Ivanise, Israel, Luis M., Louis Morales, George Correa, Orlando Santiago, Joel M. Morales, Carlos A. Pomales, Jaymarie Pomales, Luis A. Sanchez Jr. and Luis E. Sanchez; a brother, Sergio De Jesus; and a partner of 30 years, Miguel Martinez Santos, of New Cumberland. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Luis A. Sanchez.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
