Alfred Frank Ferraro, 84, of Mechanicsburg, and formerly of Dunmore, passed away on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at UPMC West Shore Hospital, Hampden Township. He was the son of the late Frank T. and Bernetta (Williams) Ferraro, born on July 4, 1937 in Dunmore.
A 1955 graduate of Dunmore High School, Alfred would go on to join the U.S. Naval Reserves before entering the workforce. He spent his career in sales, selling everything from insurance to data management and technology solutions. Moving to Central PA in the late 70s, he would work for Diversified Data Systems, Boiling Springs, where he played an integral part in its ascent from a fledgling business venture to a successful enterprise. He would also work for IMR and Nationwide Insurance. He sold property in the Pocono area, despite the established verdict that land there was impossible to sell. One constant in his life was golf; he was quite skilled, and the stress of work was alleviated on the course. He was a loyal Boston Red Sox fan, rooting them on since 1941. A hot sausage fanatic, it became routine for him to eat (at least) one every time he sat down to watch a game. Alfred loved food, and besides sausage, he would pay any price for a “real” capicola and provolone sandwich, on bread from Agostini’s Bakery, of course. He had an extensive watch collection, and you could always find this happy-go-lucky Italian with a smile on his face. Alfred had a great disposition; he was approachable and laid back, and he was a constant source of support for his kids. Everybody loved Alfred, and if you spent even one minute in his company, you would easily see why.
Surviving Alfred are his children, Lisa M. Kazmerick (Michael J.) of Mechanicsburg, and Frank Ferraro (Kelly Hartman) of Lewisberry; a brother, William P. Ferraro (Nancy) of Scranton; and several nieces and nephews.
