B. Dianne Crone

May 2, 1942 — June 13, 2025

New Cumberland, PA

Barbara Dianne Crone, 83, of New Cumberland passed on, June 13, 2025, at the Carolyn Croxton Slane Hospice Residence, Harrisburg. She was born on May 2, 1942, in Audubon, NJ to the late Margaret I. (Foster) Keys and Robert E. Keys.

Known as Dianne, she grew up in Central Pennsylvania and graduated from Cedar Cliff High School, Class of 1959. She and her husband, Carl “Butch” Crone, Jr., began their life together raising a family. Once their children reached their teens, Dianne began her professional career at the former Defense Activities Federal Credit Union on the Naval Supply Depot Mechanicsburg. She continued with the organization as it transitioned to Members 1st Federal Credit Union, retiring as credit manager at the Rossmoyne Business Center.

Dianne and Butch were longtime members of Calvary United Methodist Church in Lemoyne and recently attended Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church in Shiremanstown. Dianne was also a member of the Red Hat Society, a nature enthusiast and enjoyed birdwatching and planting flowers over the years. Some of her happiest times were spent during family gatherings and with her grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.

Together for 63 years of marriage, Dianne and Butch were the perfect team—loving, supportive, and devoted to one another. Whether spending time at their family cabin in New Lancaster Valley, trout fishing, or cheering on Penn State football and the Phillies, they did it side by side. Affectionately nicknamed ”the Cronies” by friends, their love was admired by all who knew them. She and Butch were wonderful role models and supportive parents for their children all their lives. Her family finds comfort knowing they’re reunited in Heaven.

Surviving Dianne are her children, Carl L. Crone III, wife, Emily of Lancaster and Caren Crone and Ben Nebroski of Harrisburg; grandson, Leo Crone Nebroski; granddaughter, Madison Crone; and two brothers, Bob Keys and Larry Keys, wife, Corinne. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl L. “Butch” Crone, Jr., and also her stepfather, Vince Marantz.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church, Shiremanstown, with visitation from 10AM until services begin at 11AM, with a luncheon afterwards. The burial service will take place in Rolling Green Cemetery, Camp Hill.
