Benjamin Paul Hart

June 9, 1981 — September 4, 2023

New Cumberland

Benjamin Paul Hart, 42, of New Cumberland, passed away unexpectedly on Labor Day, September 4, 2023 at his residence. He was the son of Harry and Susan (Freeman) Hart, born on June 9, 1981 in Harrisburg.

A member of the Northern High School Class of 1999, Ben was quick and witty from the moment he could talk. A structured school setting was never his thing, but he’d find fulfillment in blue-collar work, beginning his working career at EK Services, New Cumberland, where he was considered an “impeccable talent” as a heavy equipment operator. He would obtain his CDL, becoming a truck driver for various businesses over the last fifteen years.

Ben lived his life at a fast pace; allowing life to take him along for the ride. His personality was magnetic, and he was the life of the party, constantly entertaining those around him. Though his friends always held an important role in his life, becoming a dad brought him total joy. He enjoyed mentoring and watching his two boys grow; and he would pass on his love of cars to his sons by experiencing car shows and monster truck rallies together. He had a special bond with Benjamin and Braden – they could not have made him prouder. He was also a “fun uncle” to his nieces and nephews, imparting wisdom to them whenever he could. In fact, he taught his niece, Alexa, how to properly greet people she’d meet throughout life’s journey. His fun-loving and sensitive qualities will be missed but never forgotten.

Surviving Ben are his children, Benjamin Paul Hart Jr. and Braden William Hart, both of Lewisberry; parents, Susan (Freeman) Hart of New Cumberland and Harry E. Hart of Little River, SC; a sister, Julie Schaffer (husband, Josh) of Dillsburg; nieces and nephews, Alexa Garman (husband, Thomas), Rylan, Sofia and Kyden; a great-niece and nephews, Chloé, Finnley and Hudson; a former brother-in-law, Bobby Navratil of Dillsburg; his best friend in the world, Matt Miller of New Cumberland; a special aunt who loved him dearly, Frances Dietrich of Camp Hill; the mother of his children, Elissa Hart of Lewisberry; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
