Bessie P. Ulsh

Bessie P. Ulsh, 89 of New Cumberland died peacefully, surrounded by family, Sunday, April 13, 2014 at her home.
She was retired from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation-Bureau of Aviation. She also worked for USF&G, California Test Bureau, and PennDOT. She was a 1942 graduate of the former New Cumberland High School. She was a member of First Church of God, New Cumberland and its Reliables Sunday School Class; New Cumberland Civic Club, New Cumberland Olde Towne Assn., Railroad Retirees of Central PA, and a lifetime member of West Shore Sports Hall of Fame. She was an excellent cook and wonderful seamstress.
She was born April 6, 1925 in New Cumberland to the late Gilbert Jacob and Helen (Hamburg) Parthemore. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, W. Edwin Ulsh, Sr.; sister, Joyce P. Shupp; brothers, Joseph, Karl, Richard, and George; and daughter-in-law, Karen M. “Tee” Ulsh.
She is survived by five children, Kathleen Hall (Robert, MD) of Carlisle, Warren Edwin Ulsh, Jr. (Audrey) of New Cumberland, Mary Beth Snyder of New Cumberland, Mark S. Ulsh of Camp Hill, and Betsy L. Ulsh of New Cumberland; sister, Kathryn P. Kuhn (Paul) of Camp Hill; brother, Gilbert W. Parthemore (Sondra) of New Cumberland; ten grandchildren, Rob Hall and Jennifer Gray (Bill), Michael Ulsh (Jennifer) and Meagan Hamsher (Jeremy), David Snyder and Elizabeth Myers (Brian), Stephanie Rehman, Jessica and Matthew Ulsh, and Oliver; twelve great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Viewings will be from 6 to 8pm Monday at Parthemore Funeral Home and from 10 until funeral services at 11am Tuesday at First Church of God, New Cumberland. Burial will follow in Emanuel Cemetery, Fairview Twp.
