It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Robert “Bob” M. Pelles, a beloved father, grandfather, and dedicated community member, who departed this life on October 9, 2026, at the age of 79. Born in McKeesport, Pennsylvania to the late Eleanor (Szwecki) Pelles and Joseph Pelles, Bob lived a life that exemplified kindness, service, and an unwavering love for his family and community.

Bob was a proud veteran, having served in the Vietnam War, where his bravery and commitment to his country were evident. After his military service, he worked at Highmark as a data entry specialist and help desk technician, earning respect for his diligent work ethic. Alongside his professional endeavors, he devoted much of his time to serving his community. He volunteered with the Furry Friends Network and the Central Pennsylvania Animal Alliance, efforts showcasing his deep love for animals. He also served as a volunteer with the Lisburn Fire Company and shared his passion for sports by coaching softball for many years.

A passionate fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Penguins, and Pirates, Bob loved nothing more than sharing moments with family and friends while enjoying a Primanti Brothers sandwich or a plate of pierogies, often accompanied by his favorite Cherry Pepsi Zero. He had an appreciation for the beauty of flowers and found joy in reading books, listening to music, and tending to his beloved garden. Traveling to Pittsburgh was a cherished pastime, bringing him great joy and countless memories.

Bob leaves behind a loving and supportive family. He is survived by his children, Mickie (Michael) Waltenburg, Lisa Nystrom, Bob (Suzi) Pelles Jr., Bill (Missy) Pelles, Julie (Brad) Wertz, and Cyndie (Craig) Reichert-Landis; his nephew, Ken Richard, 8 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, several son-in-laws, and a host of nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his 3 wives, Cris Pelles, Catherine Pelles, and Kathleen Pelles: his granddaughter, Miranda Nystrom, and his sister, Veronica “Roni” Richard.

In honor of Bob’s life, there will be a memorial service beginning at 1pm on Friday, October 16th, 2026, in the chapel of Parthemore Funeral Home, 1303 Bridge Street, New Cumberland PA, 17070.

In Lieu of Flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Furry Friends Network and Central Pennsylvania Animal Alliance.
