Bonita L. Rudy

Bonita L. Rudy, 65, of Camp Hill, PA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 23, 2026, after a hard-fought battle with lung cancer. She was the daughter of the late Beverly (Arnold) Cobaugh and Clayton Cobaugh, Jr.

Bonita grew up in Harrisburg and graduated from Harrisburg High School. After graduation, she took up employment as a waitress at Ponderosa Steak House. As luck would have it, it was here that she’d meet her future husband, Lester, who was a cook at the restaurant.

Bonita spent a majority of her career serving others as a member of the laundry services team at both Penn State Hershey Medical Center and Holy Spirit Hospital.

Raised Catholic, her Christian values were on display each and every day. She was a natural caregiver, taking in family when they needed help and consistently putting others’ needs before her own.

She took great pride in keeping an immaculate home and was known for her spotless apartment. She also found joy in gardening, loved animals, and treasured the friendships she shared with her close-knit group of friends—including a handful neighbors. Quiet and reserved by nature, Bonita's face would light up whenever she was lucky enough to spend time with family. In more recent years, nothing brought her greater joy than her only grandson, Linnaeus, whom she adored and loved to spoil every chance she had. She will be missed.

Surviving Bonita are her children, Kimberly M. Hogan (husband, Thaddeus) of Camp Hill and David L. Rudy (wife, Stevie) of Dillsburg; her grandson, Linnaeus Hogan; siblings, Clayton Cobaugh (wife, Patty), Terry Cobaugh (wife, Gigi), and Randy Siders (wife, Tina); and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lester D. Rudy III; a son, Brandon L. Rudy; and brothers, Robert, Daniel and Michael Cobaugh.

Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
