Bruce A. Rohrbach Sr., 93 of Lower Allen Twp., Camp Hill, on October 4, 2024 went to spend eternity with Jesus, not because he wished it to be, but because of God's promise in the Bible. Of all his loves, he loved the Lord Jesus Christ the most. He was born on December 23,1930 in Harrisburg, PA to the late Adam Jacob and Violet (Snyder) Rohrbach. He graduated from John Harris High School in 1949. He leaves behind, to cherish the life they lived together, his wife Holly of 47 years, daughters Karen Deines (Ronald) of Moscow Mills, MO, and Susan King (David) of New Port Richey, FL. He was preceded in death by sons, Bruce Jr. (aka "Bryan"), Gregory, and David.
Bruce was a people person and well known in the Harrisburg business community as a producer of professional music and entertainment. In his early life, he was an amateur and professional middleweight boxer, gaining popularity and renown not only locally, but also nationally. He liked to joke about how Rocky Marciano would call him "Kid" as they trained in the same gym in New York City. And, how he once called Milton Berle "Uncle Milty" when Berle asked him to meet him after a fight at Madison Square Garden. Bruce was not a military veteran but was over the moon proud of his childhood pet German Shepherd Dog "Brownie" who served overseas during WWII and returned home uninjured with an Honorable Discharge.
Bruce was active with many benevolent and business-related organizations, too many to list. But he was most active in and a past president of the Harrisburg Optimist Club. His life personified positivity even through many trials and challenges. He mentored and motivated young professionals by giving away thousands of Christian themed books. Bruce honored God by recognizing his gift as an encourager and he set an amazing example by never complaining no matter what the circumstances. He humbly witnessed for Christ by offering prayer at any public or private gathering. Restaurant servers would quickly recognize Bruce as the person who would always place their gratuity in between the pages of a current edition of "Our Daily Bread."
