Bruce S. Wagner, 94, formerly of Enola, PA, and more recently of the Essex House in Lemoyne, passed away on Sunday, September 28, 2025, at Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill. He was born on August 5, 1931, in Summerdale, to the late Bruce E. Wagner and Mildred C. (Foltz) Kraly.
Bruce attended the former Enola High School and would remain in South Central PA all his life. He worked as a territory salesman for International Harvester before going on to Keen Leasing, Carlisle, where he retired in the mid-1990s as parts manager.
Bruce knew cars inside-out, proudly restoring several classics throughout his life. He enjoyed football and NASCAR, and he looked forward to monthly breakfasts with classmates and keeping in touch with extended family through family reunions.
Known for his easygoing nature and willingness to help anyone in need, Bruce’s greatest joy was watching his family grow, and becoming a grandfather was icing on the cake. Becoming a grandfather was among his proudest moments. His family finds peace in knowing he is now reunited with the love of his life, Gayle.
Surviving Bruce are his three daughters, Martha A. Reinecker (Ronald) of Lewisberry, Barbara K. Wagner (Claire) of Mechanicsburg and Christina L. Cain (Charles) of Enola; four grandchildren, Kenneth Myers (Nancy), Todd Reinecker, Holly Zimmerman (Richard) and Luke Cain; two great grandchildren, Ashlyn and Dylan Zimmerman; sister-in-law, Mary Louise Shetter of Lemoyne; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Gayle (Shetter) Wagner; a daughter, Janis L. Wagner; and siblings, David, Shirley, Arlene and Donny.
A public viewing will be held from 10AM until a funeral service begins at 11AM on Friday, October 3, 2025, at Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland. Burial will immediately follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Mechanicsburg.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a contribution in Bruce’s name to the American Heart Association or to the Humane Society of Harrisburg.
