In Loving Memory of Cabot Oscar Lodge

With sad, yet joyful hearts, we announce the passing of Cabot Oscar Lodge, 83 years old, of New Cumberland, to the holy gates of heaven on September 4, 2026.

Cabot was a devoted husband, father, son, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, friend, and source of strength to all who knew him. Cabot served in the United States Air Force, retired from Chromalloy, found a second career as an ordained minister, then retired from Vibrant Church, formerly Capitol Area Christian Church, Mechanicsburg. He had a gift for making people feel welcomed and loved, in his home, his church or during counseling sessions; he touched numerous lives throughout the years.

Born on September 18, 1942, in Lisbon, Ohio, Cabot lived a life centered on family, faith, hard work, and dedication to the Lord. Whether he was going on mission trips, traveling locally or abroad, cruising, hosting Bible studies over the decades or attending family get-togethers, he brought dedication to everything he did. He absolutely treasured his beach and camping trips, having spent countless summer days at Cape Henlopen in Lewes, Rehoboth Beach, DE and Ocean City, MD. He was a talented musician, having been a member of his band, Choice, during his younger years and then serving on Vibrant’s worship team for decades. He was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Ohio Buckeyes. After aspiring to be an author, he recently completed that bucket list goal and self-published a book of short stories, titled “Reedings”.

He is lovingly remembered by his children, David A. Daniel (Lisa Christianson) of Mayo, SC, Jon C. Lodge (Kristin) of Bellefonte, PA, grandchildren David C. Daniel (Cara) of Mechanicsburg, Kayla Daniel (Journey Stewart) of Whiteford, MD, Brittani Puccio (Anthony), of Bryceville, FL, Laura and Makena Lodge of Bellefonte, six great-grandchilden, and his brother Randy (Kim), of Cambridge, Ohio. Also, survived by extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Darcy E. Lodge, brother Thomas E. Lodge (Dixie), of Sunriver, Oregon, and parents, Kenneth E. and Madeline Lodge of Cambridge, OH.

While our hearts mourn our loss, we are grateful for the years, memories, and love he shared with us. His legacy lives on in the family he nurtured, the friendships he cherished, and the lives he touched.

A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at Vibrant Church, 1775 Lambs Gap Road, Mechanicsburg, PA. Sharing, and light refreshments will follow.
