Carl L. "Butch" Crone, Jr., 83, of New Cumberland, Pennsylvania, passed away on Friday December 2, 2022, in Harrisburg. He was a wonderful father, grandfather, and husband of 63 years.
He was a member of the 1957 graduating class of the New Cumberland High School. Carl retired a 60-year member and officer of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union Local 520; was a member of Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church, Mechanicsburg; an original founding member of the New Cumberland River Rescue where he had served as a Commander and Chaplin; a member of the Yellow Breeches Anglers and the New Cumberland Fire Dept. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, following Cedar Cliff High School and Penn State football along with being a devoted Phillies fan. He was an outdoorsman that loved spending time at their cabin in New Lancaster Valley, Milroy.
Carl was born in York to Carl L., Sr., and Lois L. (Fink) Crone. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Carlyn Jones.
Carl is survived by his wife, B. Dianne (Keys) Crone; son, Carl L. Crone lll; daughter, Caren Crone; granddaughter, Madison Crone; grandson, Leo Crone Nebroski.
A Memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, Dec. 8th at Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church, Mechanicsburg, 5000 Simpson Ferry Road, Mechanicsburg with the Rev. Dr. Lew Parks officiating. Visitation will be held from 10am to 11am. Burial will follow in Rolling Green Cemetery, Lower Allen Twp. A luncheon will be held in between the memorial service and the burial.
