Carole E. Yon, 66, of Silver Spring Twp., Mechanicsburg, PA passed away on Sunday, November 26, 2023 in her residence with her family at her side.

Carole was a Regional Fiduciary Director with PNC AMG, Pittsburgh. She was a very active and committed community volunteer whose involvement included serving as Board Chair for the Foundation for Enhancing Communities and Whitaker Center Productions.  Her board service included contributions to Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, Community in Schools of Pennsylvania, the Mortimer Levitt Foundation, the United Way Foundation, and Whitaker Center for Science and the Arts.  She also served on committees at Holy Spirit Hospital, the Humane Society of Harrisburg Area, and the Women's Leadership Network of the United Way. She actively supported the Central PA Food Bank, and Harrisburg University.  She was an active member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Camp Hill and was incredibly proud of teaching Sunday School there for seven years.   

In 2002, Carole was selected by former Governor Mark Schweiker and the Pennsylvania Business Journal as one of the Best 50 Women in Business. 

Carole was born in Altoona, Blair County, PA, the daughter of the late Clyde and Anna Mae (Gfrerer) Yon.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Dennis Kirk Yon.  She was a 1975 graduate of Altoona High School and Indiana University of Pennsylvania where she earned her bachelor’s in interior design.

Carole is survived by her husband of more than 20 years, Donald K. Coffee; two daughters, Kylie Yon Whyel and husband Ken of Mechanicsburg and Lauren Taylor Coffee of Harrisburg; and two brothers, Randall Kirk Yon of Altoona and Mark Francis Bowser of Greensboro, GA.

A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family in Rolling Green Cemetery, Lower Allen Twp., PA.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions in Carole’s memory to any of the above charities to which Carole was so deeply dedicated.
