Carolyn Maguire Kerr, 84, of Camp Hill passed away on Tuesday, June 2nd at UPMC Harrisburg Hospital.
She retired as a Home Economics Teacher from West Shore School District. Carolyn received her Associates Degree in Fashion Design from Endicott Jr. College in 1962, Bachelor’s Degree in Home Economics Education from Penn State University in 1969, and Master’s in Education from Temple University in 1977.
She and her husband Bill were former owners of Loveladies Sportswear on Long Beach Island, NJ and Forty West, Ltd. in Mechanicsburg. She grew up working as a tour guide in her family’s bus business, Capitol Trailways. Carolyn enjoyed rug hooking and acting as a seamstress for friends and family. She and her husband took great pride in renovating the family’s historic Victorian home, the Adam Orris House in Mechanicsburg and having it listed on the National Historic Registry. She and Bill were active in raising their granddaughters.
Carolyn was born May 31, 1942 in Harrisburg to the late John T. and Evelyn (Zimmerman) Maguire. She was predeceased by her husband William M. Kerr.
She is survived by her daughter, Heather K. Henry (Shaun) of Camp Hill; granddaughters, Katelyn and Lauren Henry; sisters, MaryAnn Maguire of Mechanicsburg and Janet Hess (Philip) of Kinnelon, NJ; four nephews and three nieces.
Viewing will be from 11am until funeral services at noon Tuesday, June 9, 2026 at Parthemore Funeral Home, New Cumberland. Burial will follow in Rolling Green Cemetery, Camp Hill, with a luncheon afterwards.
