Cathy Joynt

January 19, 1928 — February 26, 2023

Mildred “Cathy” Joynt, 95, formerly of Mechanicsburg and Etters, passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2023 at VibraLife Senior Living Community, Mechanicsburg. She was the daughter of the late Moses J. and Helen A. (Devaney) Clark, born on January 19, 1928 in Scranton.

She was a graduate of Central High School, Scranton, and would work in the accounting department at Consumer’s Life Insurance Co., Mechanicsburg, as well as her husband’s business, the former American Business Printing, Lewisberry. A devout Catholic, she attended St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Mechanicsburg, before becoming a parishioner at Holy Infant Church, Manchester. Cathy enjoyed playing bridge and crocheting in her prime, and she was a loving and supportive mother to her children. Of all she experienced in life, becoming a grandmother was her crowning achievement, savoring every moment with her grandchildren (and greats!).

Surviving Cathy is her daughter, Jeanine M. Emery of Mechanicsburg; sons, David M. Joynt (Saphiro) of Havre De Grace, MD, Jeffrey M. Joynt of Etters, and James M. Joynt (Tracy) of Mechanicsburg; thirteen grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene V. “Gene” Joynt; and siblings, Anne Barrett and Jack Clark.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at Holy Infant Catholic Church, Manchester. A public visitation will take place from 10AM until services begin in the church. Burial will follow at 1:30PM in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
