Charles E. "Chuck" Dougherty

Charles E. “Chuck” Dougherty, 67, of New Cumberland, passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2024 in his residence surrounded by loved ones.

He was a self-employed contractor, a 1974 Graduate of Cedar Cliff High School, Camp Hill and a volunteer firefighter for more than forty years.  Chuck coached his daughter and son in all their various sports endeavors and was his grandchildren’s biggest supporter at all of their sporting events.  Additionally, he was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing and could build, fix or repair almost anything.

Chuck was born in Harrisburg, PA, the son of the late Paul and Lois (Adams) Dougherty.

He is survived by his life partner of more than twenty years, Sherry Bittinger; his children, Charles Dougherty (Melissa) of Harrisburg and Sarah Dougherty of Etters; and three granddaughters, Alyssa, Isabella and Piper.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Friday, February 2, 2024 in Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland with the Rev. Jennifer Richards officiating.  Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to service time on Friday in the funeral home.  Burial will be in Rolling Green Cemetery, Lower Allen Twp.
