Christian Ford

Sgt. 1st Class, Christian Ford, USA, Ret., 86, of Etters, passed away on Friday, November 26, 2021 in UPMC Pinnacle Harrisburg Hospital.

He was retired with more than 21 years of service with the U.S. Army during which time he was awarded a Bronze Star along with other decorations, medals and awards. After his retirement from the Army, he was an insurance adjuster with Germania Insurance. He was also a member of Red Land Baptist Church, Fairview Twp., New Cumberland.

Chris was born in Amarillo, TX, the son of the late Marcus and Bada (Christian) Ford and was the widower of Margaret (Rhone) Ford.

He is survived by his children, Susan J. Collins of Etters and Matthew Christian Ford of York; six grandchildren, Tyler Zahniser, Matthew Groff, Cody Collins, Cortney Collins, Chase Ford and Kendall Ford; and three great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Monday, December 6, 2021 in Red Land Baptist Church, 661 Big Spring Rd. New Cumberland, PA 17070 with Pastor Richard Krieg, his Pastor officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services in the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions in Chris’s memory to either Red Land Baptist church at the address above or to the Alzheimer’s Association, Greater PA Chapter, 2595 Interstate Drive Suite 100 Harrisburg, PA 17110.
