Christopher Shane Lee, 70, of Mechanicsburg, PA, passed peacefully on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, into the arms of his loving heavenly Father, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.  Chris, as he was lovingly known, was born on June 8, 1952, in Taipei, Taiwan.

He immigrated to the United States to further his education and gained citizenship in 1990.  After earning his Master’s Degree from the University of West Florida in Business Administration, he started his career as a computer programmer analyst at EDS in Texas, then transferring to Camp Hill.  After many successful years in the world of information technology, Chris retired from the IT Department with UPMC.

Chris is survived by his wife of 22 years, Gwendolyn (Poffenberger) Lee.  He is also survived by a bonus daughter, Lauren Galli, of Mechanicsburg, PA, sister Meichi Ruhl, of New Hampshire, brother Ivan Lee and sister Nadine Lee of Taiwan, in-laws Carl and Beverly Poffenberger, sisters-in-law Gay (Bradley) Boyer, Kendra (Allen) Whitteker, brother-in-law Gary (Marcia) Poffenberger, and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Larkin and Grace Lee.

Chris was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Mechanisburg, PA, where he enjoyed singing in the choir.  He shared his love of music by performing with numerous choral societies.  His most memorable music experience was traveling to Italy with the Market Street Presbyterian Singers to perform at various churches including Saint Francis of Assisi.

Chris volunteered in the music program at the Boys Club of Harrisburg where top local musicians taught piano, trumpet and drum lessons. Chris enjoyed fishing, golfing, woodworking, reading, playing cards, games, and dirty marbles with his family and friends.  He was an avid fan of Messiah University Athletics, Philadelphia Phillies, and Manchester United Soccer Club.

Services will be held at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, located at 1480 Jerusalem Road in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania on June 7, 2023. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. with a church service to follow at 11:00 a.m.
