It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Daniel James Allen, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend. Daniel exchanged his earthly vessel for a glorious new body on February 16, 2026, at the age of 54. Born on December 12, 1971, in Madison, WI, to the late Wilma I. (Gifford) Allen and Rev. David S. Allen Sr., Daniel lived an energetic life filled with love, dedication, and service to others.
Dan graduated from Susquehanna Township High School in 1990, and after high school, he proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1992 to 1996 achieving the rank of Corporal.
Professionally, Dan found his calling as a truck driver, dedicating over 20 years to the road working for various trucking companies and then as an owner/operator. Hanging up his keys, Dan began working for the Fairview Township highway department, a five-year path which he enjoyed and excelled.
Never allowing an opportunity to slip by, this life-long Christian faithfully served his Lord in his home; yes, he was a ‘dance/karate dad’, his community; Santa Claus/Easter Bunny for the kids, and his church; board member, conference lay delegate and all-around handyman.
Dan had a passion for garden tractors and car shows. He expressed his creativity and insights through writing; authoring the book "Poems by an Average Joe," published in 2008 and several Gospel songs including “Stepping Out in Faith” and “It’s Not About Me”.
Daniel is survived by his devoted wife, Cindy Allen, with whom he shared 29 loving years of marriage. Together, they raised two daughters, Ashley Elizabeth Allen (David Buckwash, fiancé) and Savannah Nicole Allen, who brought him immense joy. He is also survived by his siblings: Wilma L. Hontz (John) of Wilkes-Barre, David S. (Rene) of Bristol, NH, Donna L. Budde (Scott) of Folks Run, VA, John I. of Harrisburg, Timothy P. (Ruth) of Walkersville, MD, and Mark A. (Jen) of Catonsville, MD, along with a host of nieces and nephews who will carry fond memories of him in their hearts.
To honor Dan’s life, there will be a public viewing on Wednesday February 25th starting at 10:30am at Refuge Baptist Church, 736 Wyndamere Road, Lewisberry PA, 17339. Followed by the funeral service starting at 11:30am. All are invited to join the family at 1:30pm at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest.
In lieu of flowers, please send memorial contributions to Refuge Baptist Church at the address above.
In this time of sorrow, let us remember Daniel not only for his accomplishments but for his zest for life and zeal for the Lord.
‘I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness , which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them that love his appearing.’
