Daniel G. Anderson

Daniel G. Anderson of Camp Hill, age 67, son of the late Wesley D. Anderson and Erma B. Anderson, passed away August 17, 2013 after a valiant battle with cancer. He was born October 7, 1945 in Paterson, N.J. He graduated from Marple-Newtown High School, class of 1963. He had planned on attending his 50th reunion this fall.
He was a decorated member of the Marine Corps, and served two tours of duty in Vietnam. His military service delayed his college education, and upon returning to the States he met the love of his life while waiting in line to buy books for the upcoming college semester. Dan and Joan were married June 6th, 1970. Dan graduated from Temple University in 1971.
He was the former owner of Qualitech Computer Center in Lemoyne. Dan was a serious amateur golfer. When he wasn’t playing golf, he was watching the Golf Channel and talking about golf. His favorite course was Briarwood, but he traveled far and wide to play as many courses as possible. Last year Dan and Joan realized a life long dream of owning a second home in Sunset Beach, N.C. The plan was for Joan to enjoy walks on the beach, and Dan to play golf all winter long. Sadly, Dan didn’t get to live out this dream.
Dan was an avid gardener, and loved having his morning coffee on the patio with his beloved dogs, Molly and Florence.
But most of all, Dan loved his family. Surviving him are his wife of 43 years, Joan C. Anderson. Son, David P. Anderson of Mechanicsburg. Daughter, Joelle M. McClure (Rob McClure) of New Cumberland, and grandchildren Kylie Victoria McClure, Rocco Daniel McClure, and Robert James McClure.
Brother, David Anderson (and wife Carole), sister, Ruth Anderson (and husband Phil Pratt), sister, Andrea Anderson (and husband Paul Murtha). And a number of nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Friday, August 23, 2013 in Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland. Visitation will be from 11am to 12, followed by services starting at noon. Visitors are encouraged to share pictures and stories of Dan during the service.
