David A. Shaffer

David A. Shaffer, 72, of Carlisle, died Saturday, October 8, 2022 at Penn State Holy Spirit Hospital.

He worked as a High School Mathematics Teacher at Shippensburg High School and also worked at Moore’s Lumber Company, Ace Hardware, and retired from Ames. He was a 1968 graduate of East Pennsboro High School, received his bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Millersville University and masters degree in counseling from Shippensburg University. He was a member of Moose Lodge 761, Carlisle.

He was born February 24, 1950 in Mechanicsburg to the late Elwood and Helen (Sierer) Shaffer. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Elsie Haubert.

He is survived by his daughter, Martina R. Shaffer of Lafayette Hill; son, Gabe M. (Kim) Shaffer of Shippensburg; sisters, Sandy Newmyer of Mechanicsburg and Doni Shaffer of Lafayette Hill; granddaughters, Macyn and Elliot Shaffer and Gabrielle Ingeneri; and nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of David’s Life will be held at The Moose Lodge from 12 to 2pm Sunday, October 23, 2022, 25 East High Street, Carlisle, PA 17013.
