David William Conz

David William Conz, 72, of New Cumberland, passed away at his residence on Sunday, May 12, 2024. Born on April 22, 1952 in Harrisburg, he was the son of the late Vance and Elizabeth (Matthews) Toniola.

David was a 1970 graduate of Trinity High School, Camp Hill, and he was employed with Zurich Insurance Group, Mechanicsburg, as a mail clerk for over 25 years.

Whenever the opportunity presented itself, David would travel the globe. He visited Hawaii three times, and he made a very memorable trip to the Holy Land as a young man. He was extremely well-read and enjoyed following sports—especially the Pittsburgh Steelers. He bowled in his younger days, even joining a league with his mother at one point, and he had a special relationship with his sister (who was 16 years his junior). One of his biggest passions was music, with a deep affinity for Barbara Streisand and Diana Ross; he made it a point to see Diana’s iconic Central Park concert and would never forget that experience. Most importantly, David cared deeply for his small circle of friends. He was always generous, sometimes at his own expense, and he constantly did what he could for those he loved. His unique personality and genuine nature will be greatly missed.

Surviving David is his sister, Cheryl Toniola Posavec (John) of New Cumberland; three nieces and a nephew, Cara, Emma, Audrey & John Jr.; his uncle, Thomas P. Matthews (Sandi) of Lebanon; and many cousins.

A memorial service will be held at 1PM on Thursday, May 30, 2024 at Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland.
