David P. Hare

David P. Hare, 55, of New Cumberland, passed away on Sunday, December 24, 2023 in Chippenham Hospital, Richmond, VA.

He was a Head High Voltage Electrician with Electric Power, Inc., Chester, VA, a U.S. Army veteran and a graduate of Red Land High School.  Dave was a member of the Goldsboro Fireman’s Club and the Lower Allen VFW Post 7530.  He enjoyed building with Legos, was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and took great pride in his truck.

Anyone who knew Dave, knew how kind and generous he was, so much so that when he passed away he gave one final gift; the gift of life.  Dave donated his vital organs and was able to give that gift of life to others.  The family wishes to extend their deep appreciation and gratitude to both LifeNet Health and the Chippenham Hospital for their facilitation in making this gift happen.

Dave was born in Harrisburg, the son of Gail M. (Martin) Hare of Etters and the late Charles Gene Hare.  In addition to his parents, Dave was preceded in death by a son Heath Richard Weigel.

He is survived by his loving wife, Brigette J. (Carr) Hare; his son Dustin Weigel and wife Amanda of York Haven; siblings, William Hare and wife Sharon of Etters, Kim Meddings and husband Bill of Shermans Dale and Jack Hare and wife Ellie of Buffalo, NY; two grandchildren, Cassidy and Dylan Weigel; and his canine companion “Latte”.

A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 in Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland.  A viewing will be held from noon until 2 pm Tuesday in the funeral home.  Burial will be in Emanuel Cemetery, Lewisberry.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions in Dave’s memory to either the donor’s local organ donation agency or to the American Heart Association, Capital Region Division 4250 Crums Mill Rd. Harrisburg, PA 17112.
