David J. Shaffer

David “Dave” J. Shaffer, 56, of New Cumberland, Fairview Twp. died Sunday, September 20, 2026 at his home.

He was the owner and operator of Shaffer’s Meats in the West Shore Farmer’s Market where he started as an adolescent under the guidance of his father. A 1989 graduate of Red Land High School, his passions were creating furniture from antique cars, including a 57 Chevy and 59 Cadillac, and collecting all types of Coca Cola memorabilia. Dave was an active member of America’s Transportation Experience / AACA Museum, Inc., Hershey.

He was born August 22, 1970 in Harrisburg. He was preceded in death by his father, Larry D.E. Shaffer.

He is survived by his mother, Sandra L. (Krater) Shaffer of New Cumberland; sister, Lynn T. Mickel (James) of New Cumberland; brother, Jeremy S. Shaffer of New Cumberland; nieces and nephews, Rachel Knoll (Dana) of Middletown, Seth Mickel (Toni) of York Haven, Kaleb Shaffer, and Mackenzie Shaffer, both of New Cumberland and his dearly loved dogs, Apache and Malibu Shaffer.

Private family services will be held at the convenience of the family with burial in Rolling Green Cemetery, Camp Hill. A Celebration of Dave’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 12, 2026 at Fairview Bethel Community Outreach Center, 289 Spanglers Mill Rd., New Cumberland, PA 17070.
