Delia A. (Law) Cain, 74, of Lower Paxton Township, PA, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, May 29, 2026, with family by her side. She was born on July 30, 1951, in Harrisburg, to the late Dr. Charles C. Law and Helen (Roach) Law.
Delia was the kind of person who made the world a little brighter simply by being in it. If you were fortunate enough to know Delia, you knew you had a friend for life.
A 1969 graduate of Trinity High School in Camp Hill, Delia followed her passion into beauty school and began a career as a hairstylist that would span more than five decades. For the past 35 years, she welcomed generations of clients at A Cut Above Styling Center in Harrisburg, where her talent was matched only by her ability to make people feel comfortable, valued, and cared for. Many came for a haircut but returned again and again because of the friendship they found in Delia.
Delia enjoyed skiing and was a longtime member of the Susquehanna Ski Club. She was also a devoted animal lover who never met a stray she didn't want to help. Delia's heart was always open, and many animals found safety and love because of her compassion.
Those who knew her will remember her movie-star smile, her infectious laugh, and her wonderful sense of humor. Delia had a gift for putting people at ease. She would tell a joke at just the right moment, and she gracefully offered comfort to others. She was the friend who showed up when it mattered most, standing beside others through life's challenges without ever expecting anything in return.
Family meant everything to her. Known lovingly as "Aunt Dee," her nieces and nephew were her world, and she took immense pride in watching them grow. Their successes brought her joy, and her love and encouragement were constants throughout their lives.
The greatest way to honor Delia's memory is not only to remember her kindness, but to carry it forward—to be a little more patient, a little more compassionate, and a little more willing to help others without expecting anything in return.
Surviving Delia is her brother, Charles C. Law II (Mary Lou) of Camp Hill; sister, Teresa M. Law of New Cumberland; a nephew, Charles “CJ” Law (Katie); nieces, Jacqueline, Sarah, Ashley and Megan Law; a great niece and nephew, Madelyn and Charlie; stepchildren, Lucinda (Chris) and Chuckie (Erica), and step-grandchildren, Lila, Zach, Ryan and Allison. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two stepchildren, Jennifer and Christopher.
A Celebration of Life with friends and family will be held from 6-8PM on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a contribution in Delia’s name to a local animal shelter of your choice.
