Dennis E. Snook, of New Cumberland, PA, 75 years old, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on February 1, 2023, from lung cancer. He was born on July 30, 1947, attended Cedar Cliff High School, and lived in New Cumberland all his life.
Denny worked hard to provide for his family as a truck driver for over 30 years. He worked for Eastern Express, Transcon Lines, Preston, and Roadway, driving several million miles accident-free. Denny loved driving professionally and for pleasure and was always ready to provide detailed directions to anyone that asked, a true human GPS. After retiring from truck driving, he stayed active working in the Produce Department at Giant Foods in New Cumberland.
He was a lifetime member of the New Cumberland Fire Department, proudly volunteering since 1966. He had many roles, including Captain and most recently, Chairman, and was instrumental in acquiring trucks for NCFD. Additionally, he loved being part of the Fire Police.
Denny was born and grew up in New Cumberland. He met his wife, Nancy, at Cedar Cliff high school, and they married in 1969. In 1971, Denny and Nancy had their first child, Shawn, and five years later, they welcomed twins Erin and Eric into the world. He worked hard to ensure they were taken care of and felt loved every day.
Anyone who knew Denny was familiar with his dry humor, laid-back demeanor, and love of his family, grandsons, and many dogs. He was devoted to his family and enjoyed helping with his kids’ activities as they grew up and through all aspects of their lives.
Denny is survived by his devoted wife, Nancy (Snyder) Snook; children, Shawn (Diana) of Beaver, PA, Erin of South Deerfield, MA, and Eric (Nicole) of Coatesville, PA; brother Larry of Dover, PA; and grandsons, Jayden and Landyn.
Visitation will be held from 3- 4 pm, with a memorial service at 4 pm on Monday, February 27th, at Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Cumberland.
