Dennis R. Shellenberger, I, 85 of Lewisberry died Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at his home.

An Army Veteran of the Vietnam War era, he was a retired Correctional Officer from the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections. He was a life member of VFW Post 7530, Lower Allen Twp.; American Legion Post 143, New Cumberland; and the Mechanicsburg Club. Dennis enjoyed hunting, attending his family’s sporting events, riding motorcycles, attending gun shows with his son Robert, dancing, and his precious cat Sugar.

He was born May 18, 1940 in his family’s home in Milton, PA to the late Robert Roswell and Evelyn Pinina (Swank) Shellenberger. He was also preceded in death by his sisters Shirley and Phyllis Shellenberger.

He is survived by his wife, Catherine “Cathy” L. Shellenberger; children, Jacque Foster of Harrisburg, William Shellenberger of Mechanicsburg, Vicki Soulliard of Harrisburg, Robert Shellenberger of York Haven, Brian Harmon (Amy) of Danville, NH, John T. Spicer, III (Keysha) of Camp Hill, and Paul Spicer (Michele) of Steelton; thirteen grandchildren, Larry Ryan, Ashley, Taylor, Tierney, Alyssa, Jeanna, Bobbie, Dennis, II, Morgan, Aislyn, Lucas, and Aaron; two great-grandchildren; and several cousins.

Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family at Rolling Green Cemetery, Camp Hill.
