Dennis D. Vachon

Dennis D. Vachon, a beloved husband, brother, and friend, passed away on September 11, 2026, at the age of 73. Born on January 15, 1953, in Sanford, Maine, to the late Pauline Vachon and Robert Vachon, Dennis lived a life rich in love and purpose, deeply touching the lives of those around him.

Dennis graduated from the University of Maine in 1976, where he majored in Veterinary Science, a testament to his lifelong devotion to animals. His passion for animal welfare was evident not only in his career but in his everyday life, as he was a devoted owner of his beloved dog Barney, who preceded him in death.

Known for his love of outdoor activities, Dennis found joy in skiing and boating, as well as relishing the taste of fresh lobster. He was a devoted fan of the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox, proudly cheering for his teams through every season.

Dennis is survived by his loving wife, Maureen Horan; his sister, Claudette Fountain (Harry); his brother, Lionel Vachon (Suzanne); and several dear sisters-in-law: Cathie Scheipe (Robert), Beth Meadows (Ken), and Patrice Lengle (Alan). He will also be remembered fondly by many nieces and nephews who brought him immense joy.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Paul Vachon and sister Camille Beaudry (Robert). A memorial service to honor Dennis’s life will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at 12:00 PM, at Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. in New Cumberland, Pennsylvania. Friends and family are invited to attend a visitation prior to the service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
