Donald F. "Grand Don" Clarke

Donald F. “Grand Don” Clarke, 88, of Etters died Friday, April 5, 2024 at his home.

An Army Veteran, he was a retired Staff Architect from the PA Housing Finance Agency.  Don was a 1955 graduate of Mt. St. Joseph High School, Baltimore and Temple University, Philadelphia.  He was an avid runner, bicyclist, Ravens, Oriole, and Notre Dame Fan.  He enjoyed crabbing and traveling around the world with his wife.   He was a member of St. Theresa Parish, New Cumberland.  

He was born September 13, 1935 in Binghamton, NY to the late Harry Charles and Mary Catherine (Mahar) Clarke.  He was also preceded in death by his sister, Elizabeth Murphy and brother, Charles Clarke.

He is survived by his wife, Margaretta A. “Gretta” Clarke; children, Sean P. Clarke (Jennifer) of New Cumberland and Colleen A. Arnold (Jeffrey) of Ardmore; grandchildren, Rachel (Nick), Cameron, Maura, Amelia, Samuel, Shea and James; and great-granddaughter, Sophie.

Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30am Thursday April 11^th at Parthemore Funeral Home, New Cumberland.  Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11am at St. Theresa Catholic Church, New Cumberland.  Committal will follow at Tri-County Memorial Gardens, Fairview Twp.
