Ekaterina (Kathy) Arhontakis of Enola, PA passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 9, 2022, at the age of 82 at UPMC Harrisburg Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Kathy was born in Kissamos, Crete, Greece on August 19, 1939, to Stelios and Argyro Bouzakis. Kathy was the youngest of five siblings. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, Stylianos (Steve) Arhontakis, who passed away on December 27, 2021. She is survived by her children George (Sherri) Arhontakis, Rachel (Reagan) Fruth, and Frank (Adrienne) Arhontakis; grandchildren J.R., Holden, Emily, Taylor, Athena and Phoebe; and many nieces and nephews.
Kathy and Steve immigrated to the United States to pursue a better life in 1970 and were blessed with three children. She worked hard to support her family. Kathy was a beloved mother and grandmother as she loved being surrounded by family. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren. Kathy crocheted the most beautiful ornate lace and afghan blankets. Her true passion was cooking and loved to make extravagant meals for her family, with the secret ingredient of love. She enjoyed gardening, Greek music, and in her younger days dancing. Kathy and her husband often visited Greece to spend time with their extended families and to enjoy the local area. She was a dedicated and faithful parishioner of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral.
The family was blessed with incredible memories as she always made family her priority. May the Lord receive her kind soul in His Kingdom and may the Lord comfort the hearts of her family.
Due to current extraordinary circumstances, private services were held on Tuesday, January 11, 2022.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions in Kathy’s memory to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 1000 Yverdon Drive, Camp Hill, PA 17011.
