Elaine S. Sandnes, 80, of Camp Hill and formerly of New Cumberland, passed away on Friday, May 14, 2021 in Penn State Holy Spirit Medical Center, East Pennsboro Twp.
Elaine worked for 20 years as a snack bar attendant with Harrisburg Hospital Auxiliary. After she stopped working, she loved to attend the Aurora club in Mechanicsburg. Elaine could usually be spotted walking the streets of New Cumberland or taking adventures on bus trips or with her family. She was an avid fan of the Phillies, Flyers and Coca-Cola, and loved to wear their garb!
She was a long-time member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Cumberland, and more recently, attended Baughman Memorial United Methodist Church, New Cumberland.
Elaine was extremely devoted to her family and dearly loved her siblings, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Additionally, she loved animals, especially Teddy and Lily. Elaine’s love, strength and positive spirit was an inspiration to her entire family.
Elaine was born in Brooklyn, NY to the late Edward and Helen (Andersen) Sandnes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Carol Drake and Nancy Heil Rousseau.
She is survived by her siblings, Edward Sandnes, Jr. of Lewisberry, Susan Lewis of Longmont, CO, Paul Sandnes of New Cumberland, Karen Sandnes of Camp Hill, Margeaux Sandnes of New Cumberland, Roy Sandnes of New Cumberland, James Sandnes of Southampton, NY and Lois Sandnes of Shiremanstown; nine nieces, five nephews and seventeen great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Friday, May 21, 2021 in Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 5-7 pm in the funeral home. Burial will be in Rolling Green Cemetery, Lower Allen Twp.
