Eleanor L. "Sammi" Hellberg

Eleanor L. “Sammi” Hellberg , 73, passed away Monday, April 17, 2023.  She was born May 12, 1949, in the Bellingham, WA area, and was adopted by Dr. Gunnar and Inger Draseth Hellberg when she was 3 days old.  She graduated high school in 1967, and she and Gunnar became members of the Mt. Baker, WA, ski patrol.  Eleanor moved to the Mechanicsburg area in the early '70s, and recently retired from the Mechanicsburg Naval Support Activity after 41 years, 11 months of dedicated service.  She was the youngest of 9 children born to Margie Hellium with whom she reunited in the early '90s.  Sammi was always friendly, outgoing, and positive, and meant a lot to her friends, co-workers, and neighbors.  We will miss her.
